What is BetAlert?

BetAlert is a free-to-play prediction market platform. You use virtual credits to predict the outcomes of various events. No real money is ever involved.

Is real money involved?

No. BetAlert is entirely free-to-play. Credits are virtual points with no monetary value and cannot be cashed out or exchanged for anything of real-world value.

How do I get credits?

You start with 100 credits when you create an account. You earn an additional 10 credits automatically every day you use the platform. You also win credits by making correct predictions.

How do prediction markets work?

Each market has a question with multiple possible outcomes. You buy shares in the outcome you think will happen. Prices move based on collective buying — the more people buy an outcome, the higher its price. If your outcome is correct when the market resolves, you receive a payout proportional to your shares.

What is LMSR?

BetAlert uses a Logarithmic Market Scoring Rule (LMSR) to price shares. This is the same mechanism used by professional prediction market platforms like Polymarket. It ensures the market always has liquidity and prices stay between 0–100%.

How do I create a market?

Only administrators can create markets. If you have a suggestion for a market topic, reach out to us via email.

How is the leaderboard calculated?

The leaderboard ranks users by their total credits. It updates in real time as trades are resolved.

Can I change my nickname?

Yes. Go to your Profile page and click 'Edit Nickname'. Your nickname is the only thing other users see — your email is never displayed.

What happens if a market is cancelled?

If a market is cancelled by an admin (e.g., the event didn't take place), all positions are refunded at cost — you get your credits back.
